Rubio Bill Passes Senate with Unanimous Consent

AIPAC Remarks

  • Senator Rubio addressed the Florida delegation of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and discussed the state of the Israel-Hamas war as well as Iran’s continued sponsoring of terrorism. 

Worldwide Threats Hearing

  • Vice Chairman Rubio delivered opening remarks at the Worldwide Threats Assessment hearing on the dangers currently threatening U.S. national security.
  • Senator Rubio questioned FBI Director Christopher Wray on the dangers posed by terrorists taking advantage of the open southern border and how the Chinese Communist Party can weaponize TikTok against America.

  • Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Vice Chairman Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) released a joint statement pledging Senate action on TikTok after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act.

Letters

  • Senator Rubio and Representative María Elvira Salazar led colleagues in sending a letterto President Joe Biden urging him to designate the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua as a Transnational Criminal Organization.
  • Senator Rubio sent a letter to U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secretary Lloyd Austin asking him not to divert funds to the war in Ukraine at the expense of U.S. servicemembers.
  • Senator Rubio sent a letter to Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Director Dr. Mandy Cohen questioning politicized guidance for the use of doxycycline, which could compromise medical safety. 

Legislation 

  • Senator Rubio, Senator Mark Warner (D-VA), and colleagues introduced a bill urging the Director of National Intelligence to create a transparent information-sharing strategy to combat  malicious activities against the United States. 
  • Senator Rubio introduced the Stop Funding Global Terrorists Act to ensure taxpayer dollars are not being mishandled by the United Nations and ending up in the hands of terrorist organizations. 
  • Senator Rubio introduced the Sanctions Recovery Act to incentivize the  U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to strictly enforce sanctions on foreign adversaries.
