Rubio Responds to USTR Denial
U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Katherine Tai rejected a bipartisan petition led by Senator Rubio to initiate a Section 301 investigation of fruit and vegetable imports from Mexico and secure trade relief for Florida growers. However, Tai did acknowledge Mexico’s export targeting scheme poses a serious challenge to Florida’s seasonal and perishable fruit and vegetable industries. Senator Rubio issued a statement outlining what comes next.
Condemning Jimmy Lai’s Conviction
Senator Rubio led members of the Florida Delegation in sending a letter to Secretary of the U.S. Navy Carlos Del Toro urging the Navy to reach a swift resolution to paperwork delays for retiring Florida sailors.
Senator Rubio, along with Senators Rick Scott (R-FL), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Tim Scott (R-SC), Richard Burr (R-NC), and Thom Tillis (R-NC), sent a letter to NOAA Administrator Richard Spinrad sharing their concerns over the proposed NOAA rule that would impact the boating and fishing industries of the coastal states.
Senator Rubio sent a letter to JPMorgan Chase and Co. CEO Jamie Dimon raising concerns over politically motivated de-banking actions.
Senator Rubio and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) sent a letter to President Joe Biden outlining the dangerous consequences of his administration’s recent actions towards Venezuela.
