Historic Statue Unveiling
  • As of this week, a statue of educator Mary McLeod Bethune will represent Florida in the U.S. Capitol’s Statuary Hall. Senator Rubio honored Dr. Bethune and her legacy at the statue’s unveiling.

Immigration 
  • Senate Republicans held a conference on the border crisis. Senator Rubio attended andspoke against the Biden Administration’s lawless and dangerous policies.

  • Senator Rubio also spoke about the border crisis on Thursday, when he appeared on Fox & Friends .

  • Senator Rubio welcomed the Biden Administration’s extension of Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelans in the U.S. but stated it was “overdue.”

National Security
  • Senator Rubio partnered with Senators Kevin Cramer (R-ND) and John Hoeven (R-ND) in requesting a review of Chinese food manufacturer Fufeng Group’s purchase of land near a North Dakota Air Force Base.  

Standing for America
  • Senator Rubio joined The Brian Mudd Show where he expressed, “[m]ost Americans believe being an American isn’t a race or ethnicity … it’s un-American to divide people on the basis of their race, gender, or ethnicity, and they shouldn’t have different rights and different laws based on skin color.” 

The Cuban People’s Fight for Freedom
  • Senator Rubio commemorated the one year anniversary of the historic anti-communist protests that took place in Cuba on July 11, 2021. 

  • He also wrote an op-ed for ADN America calling on the Biden Administration to support the Cuban people in their fight for freedom.

  • Senator Rubio remembered the Cuban regime’s horrific attack on a tugboat of fleeing Cubans.

Space National Guard
  • Senator Rubio joined Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) in an op-ed on Defense Newsmaking the case for a Space National Guard, which the senators have introduced a bill to establish.

Letters
  • Senator Rubio and Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) sent a letter to the U.S. Army and Air Force Secretaries regarding a lack of childcare facilities at Camp Bull Simons on Eglin Air Force Base. 

  • Senator Rubio joined Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) and U.S. Representative Lance Gooden (R-TX) in a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland opposing the Department of Justice’s revival of the Obama-era “settlement slush fund” practice. 

  • Senator Rubio and colleagues sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary urging the USDA to report on drug smuggling in produce imports from Mexico. 

Legislation 
  • Senator Rubio introduced the Prohibiting Abortion on Federal Lands Act with Senators Roger Marshall (R-KS), Jim Risch (R-ID), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Roger Wicker (R-MS), Steve Daines (R-MT), John Thune (R-SD), and Josh Hawley (R-MO).

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) introduced the Protecting Critical Ecosystems and Military Readiness in Florida Act .

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) introduced a resolution recognizing the anniversary of the fraudulent 2020 Belarus presidential election. 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Jim Risch (R-ID) announced plans to introduce a resolution to reaffirm support for U.S.-Mexico relations and economic engagement while encouraging the Biden Administration to address the U.S. southern border crisis. 

  • Senator Rubio introduced the Standing with Moms Act as part of his pro-life, pro-family framework legislation. 

  • Senator Rubio and colleagues introduced the Unborn Child Support Act to give mothers the ability to receive child support payments while they are pregnant. 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator John Kennedy introduced legislation to extend the National Flood Insurance Program through September 30, 2023 to ensure Americans have access to affordable flood insurance. 

  • Senator Rubio introduced a bill with Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) to designate June as the “Month of Life.”
