On Wednesday, I spoke on the Senate floor and released a statement after the Senate rejected my joint resolution under the Congressional Review Act to overturn the Biden Administration’s 2021 Final Rule on the Title X Family Planning Program. The Final Rule reversed the Trump Administration’s 2019 ban on federal funding to entities, such as Planned Parenthood, that provide abortion services or referrals to pregnant mothers. On Tuesday, I led Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) and bipartisan members of the Florida delegation in sending a letter to U.S. Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall regarding his forthcoming selection of a permanent location for the U.S. Space Force’s Space Training and Readiness Command. Last Friday, I sent a letter to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge regarding unsafe and unsanitary conditions at several properties throughout the State of Florida being managed by Cambridge Management, Inc. under the Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance program. On Wednesday, I sent a letter to Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Group, asking for further information regarding Volkswagen’s partnerships with Chinese companies Huayou Cobalt and Tsingshan Holding Group.
