Kottkamp to back McCollum for governor, likely run for attorney general himself

Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp said today he will probably run for attorney general, not governor, as dominoes continue falling across Florida’s 2010 political landscape.
That means Attorney General Bill McCollum, who won’t say officially that he’s running for governor, will probably go for the top prize next week. Kottkamp said he plans to be with McCollum for the announcement of McCollum’s gubernatorial candidacy expected next week in Central Florida.
Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson, who is term-limited out of his Cabinet seat next year, is still considering a bid for governor. Like McCollum, he has said he will announce his plans next week.
Florida Republican Party Chairman Jim Greer, who has been working for the past few months to have as few GOP primaries as possible, said Thursday his efforts are making progress. Gov. Charlie Crist’s long-expected announcement that he is running for the U.S. Senate Tuesday touched off the political chain reaction in GOP circles, as Democrats united around Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink.
“I anticipate being there on Monday to support this party,” Kottkamp said of McCollum’s plans. “I’ve been by the governor’s side for the last two and a half years and I’ve seen what it takes on a day-to-day basis to be governor, and I think Bill McCollum is capable of doing that.”

Dear Jason Steele,
I was in attendance at the October 7th luncheon meeting of the Melbourne Area Federation of Republic Women (MAFRW).
As I listened to you speak I was very disappointed with your advice that MAFRW should continue as usual but not to expect to see a strong and united Republication Party. You spoke of internal problems and investigations that are splitting the party within the part.
You mentioned the $500 million spent BY THE PEOPLE on the 9/12 March on Washington and drooled over what that money could do for the Republican Party. You fail to see the connection here. The money could be yours. Get your honest, ethical, law abiding AMERICAN politicians (for the people) organized and SPEAK OUT internally and publicly LOUD AND OFTEN about the dishonesties, unethical, and un-American situation prevailing in Washington at this time and the contributions will flow in. The Party affiliation does not matter; you must represent all of the American People. Investigate and call out the individuals who are in our Government but who are against our Government as it stands. The American people will gladly support a media campaign.
Forget the favors (I’ll give you if you give me) and COMPLETELY represent the Government for the American People, and the Constitution as it stands.
The subtle threats from the administration and czars toward first amendment rights “Freedom of Speech” (internet, independent Fox news, etc.) is really scary and could eventually lead to NO PUBLIC ELECTIONS. It has already begun with the unions who no longer want secret ballots and appear to be getting support from the administration (Employee Free Choice Act). You will not have to worry about elections. Legislators will be out of jobs and a socialistic state will prevail. If any of you do not want to do your job as an American for the People of the United States, leave now and make room for honest and ethically responsible people with integrity to do the job.
Let’s not lose our country because the American Republications will not speak out loudly for the Rights of the American people.
Please reinstate the Pumpkin Patch at the Suntree Produce Place.
Why in the world would this be terminated by the County?
there must be a good reason for this.
